Birmingham City - IS EUROPE POSSIBLE?

After an impressive 0-1 win against Stoke at the fortress that is the Brittannia Stadium, Birmingham have stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games. At the start of the season, the question was can they stay in the EPL, but on recent form the question is now can they get into Europe? Well they are currently in 8thposition just one point behind 7th place Liverpool. Birmingham have a tough fixture list in January though, as they travel to in form Championship side Nottingham Forest, welcome Manchester United to St. Andrews and they then hit the road again to Portsmouth and end the month against Chelsea.

How Did They Get There?

Birmingham’s unbeaten streak started at St. Andrews with a 2-1 against Sunderland and then carried that win to draw with Man City and Liverpool.  They then went on to win 1-0 vsFulham and Wolves. The rest: Wigan away 2-3, West Ham at home 1-0, Blackburn at home 2-1, Everton away 1-1, Chelsea at home 0-0, Stoke away 0-1. This is the clubs best run since 1908 and key to the clubs success is that the manager Alex McLeish has named the same side for the last eight games.

I've noticed that Birmingham City F.C. really doesn't seem to be able to get anything done in the playoffs. I'm sure Manager Alex McLeish is on the hot seat right now. The club has such a rich history, they really need to step it up to continue their winning legacy.
