Blues In Control at the Top & Pompey Dominating the Cellar
Just a few notes about this past weekend's games, as well as, the League as a whole. Chelsea has now taken control of Premier League with 5 wins in a row and a dominating win at Arsenal 3-0 on Sunday. Surprising result? Even without Robin Van Persie, I still thought Arsenal could at least compete with the Blues, but that didn't seem to be the case here. Captain Obvious quote of the day goes to Didier Drogba. The Chelsea in form striker says that Chelsea has the edge in the race for the Premier League title...really, ya think?? Chelsea leads 2nd place Manchester United by 5 points, 3rd place Totenham by 10 points and Arsenal by 11. The Gunners do have a game in hand, but even if they get all 3 points from that game - they are still 8 points back.

They have been trough a lot since this season has started...injuries to their 2 key players (Steven Gerrard & Fernando Torres), Aquilani comes in hurt, poor performances in all competitions, including Champions League which they will now compete in the Europa League. But with all that said and how much everyone in the media (including yours truly) piled on...good for them for bouncing back and not folding up shop - they now look like a team that will compete for a Champions League spot for next season - when things could have been a lot worse.
Portsmouth now leads the fight for the bottom by 3 points over Wolverhampton, with Bolton being the other team in the relegation zone. We know Portsmouth will be in the Coca Cola next year, but what about Wolves & Bolton? Can they scratch and crawl their way out...if they do - who do you think will be the team(s) to replace them? Let us know in the comment section below.
