Injuries to Superstars adding up during the International Break - who should pay their salaries now?

Portuguese International & Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, Italian International & Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon & England International & Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney are just three players that have gotten injured during this round of World Cup qualifying.  Ronaldo has aggravated and ankle injury, Buffon needs knee surgery & Rooney has a calf injury - all 3 of these players are key players for their club teams as well.  So of course, this got me thinking....I know - a scary thought!

Who should be responsible to pay the salaries of these players if a player gets hurt while on international duty?  Should it really be the club?  I know the clubs are the one's that negotiate the salaries - and this is even more so a reason why they should be reimbursed if the player can't play because of injury after coming back from international play.

And if this is a possibility - what is a fair agreement?  Should they split the wage evenly?  Should the player's respective country pay 100% of the player's salary until they can play?  Would this also cause team trainer's to say certain player's aren't ready to play if a club team is in good form without the player?  This really could open up a can of worms - but this is very unfair to REal Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United right now.  SO what is the right answer....I would like to know what you, our fans think?  Please leave your comments below!
